Herbert William (Bertie) Cloete – Chairman
BComm (Stellenbosch),CMA (London), MBL (Unisa)
During his working career until 1995, Bertie was the financial manager for one of the biggest construction and civil engineering companies in South Africa. Thereafter, until 1999, he was the financial director of one of the biggest fruit juice processors.
During 2000 he started his own entrepreneurial company, Unibert, and in conjunction with otherprivate equity partners and financiers, built a sizable
asset base. Most of these investments are in property, food and leisure-related businesses.
Bertie is the founding shareholder of the Pavilion Leisure Group (PTY) Ltd.





Johan de Villiers – Managing Director
Johan is a graduate of the Belvoirpark Hotelfachschule and soon after graduation took up a position as a Training Officer with Banqueting in Botswana. He furthered his experience by joining the Legacy Team, where he stayed for 3 years before a major career move to Sun International.
During his time at Sun International, Johan completed his CPMD (Wits management course) and was appointed to a Senior Management role that he held for 8 years.
In the course of his work at Sun International, he was exposed to large scale conferencing, major International events and event management.
The impressive list of events in which Johan was involved include The Nedbank Golf Challenge, Miss SA, Miss World, Di-Data, Microsoft Partners Summit and the DRC Peace Talks.
In 2011, and seeking a new challenge, Johan joined the Pavilion Leisure Management Group, his current role being that of Managing Director. He is also a shareholder in The Pavilion Leisure Management Group (PTY) Ltd.

Lindsay Barrett –Group Sales and Marketing Manager
Lindsay studied Public Relations at Varsity College between 2002 and 2005.
In January 2006, as a result of being invited to sell Theatre Shows at the old IMAX Theatre (as it was called then) Lindsay’s career with The Pavilion LMG was launched.
Lindsay’s love of people in general and the events industry in particular, has always shone through and in 2008 she was promoted to the position of Sales & Marketing Manager. Since then, she has never looked back.
In her current role of Group Sales & Marketing Manager, Lindsay continues to add massive value to the Group, retaining and developing strategic client relationships through her professionalism, enthusiasm and passion for Sales & Marketing.

Thomas Mücke – Group Executive Chef
Thomas graduated from the Industrie und Handelskammer in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany in 1993.
His long career in the hospitality industry began with a 3 year apprenticeship after which he gained extensive experience through working in various 4 and 5 star hotels in Switzerland.
Following his move to Cape Town in 1998, Thomas initially held a position as Sous Chef at the renowned V&A Hotel prior to being promoted to Executive Chef at the Ambassador Hotel, a sister hotel to the V&A Hotel at that time.
In 2008, following a 2 year spell running in-house catering for the Nedbank BOE building in the V&A Waterfront, Thomas was appointed to the position of Executive Chef at the Pavilion Conference Centre.
From there Thomas was promoted into his current role of Group Executive Chef and heads up catering for The Pavilion LMG.

Gaspard Bossut – Group Operations Manager
Initially studying Information Technology, Gaspard has always had a true affinity with the hospitality industry.
His love of the industry first surfaced as early as his school days, when at just 15 years old he was working as a Banqueting Bar Tender at the Safari Lodge Hotel in Windhoek, Namibia.
He was so drawn to hospitality, that he found himself returning to the fold from his IT studies and working at his family’s well known restaurant, The Whaling Station in Betty’s bay.
Subsequent to this, Gaspard was fortunate enough to have the chance to venture abroad and travelled extensively in the UK and USA. It was during this time that he gained invaluable experience and worked in a number of large and prestigious Golf Estates in Florida, New York and Pennsylvania.
On returning to South Africa in 2005, Gaspard further expanded his skill set by working as Food & Beverage Manager in some of the most well-known hotels in Cape Town including the Ambassador Hotel, Cape Suites Hotel and L’ermitage.
Gaspard joined The Pavilion LMG in 2011 and in his current role of Group Operations Manager he also takes responsibility for the Group’s IT infrastructure and IT development strategy as part of his portfolio.

Hassan Kimmie – Group Financial Manager
Hassan matriculated from Livingstone High School with an exemption in 1997.
He began his career in accounting at the HS & ABD accounting firm before moving on to SAB&T Inc. where he worked in the EBS Department. It was during this time that Hassan gained extensive knowledge of accounting practices and furthered his skill set as a result of spending 2 years in the Auditing Department.
In 2008 Hassan joined the team at The Pavilion LMG and he is currently the Group Financial Manager.
In 2009 he was appointed as a trustee of The Pavilion Trust, a company formed with the intention of ensuring that all employees share in the profitability of the company. This is a position that Hassan continues to hold as well as his role as Financial Accountant for the Group.
